ABSTRACT: Major excavations within city centres present enormous challenges to the design and construction teams charged with carrying out the work. An effective instrumentation and monitoring system can reduce the risks of all parties concerned and can reassure stakeholders. This paper presents details of the design of one such system for a project in the Brisbane Central Business District.
