ABSTRACT: Confined Aquifers tests are widely used for determining the hydrodynamic characteristics and aquifer boundaries. However, the interpretation of drawdown data provided by these tests is made by methods that use very simplistic assumptions of reality. The very common approach used in the case of heterogeneous and anisotropic aquifers in particular layered aquifers, is to consider the homogeneous and anisotropic equivalent model whose neither spatial nor temporal validity have been assessed. This paper proposes a new approach allowing the reliable use of this approach.
