Euler-Bernoulli Beam on Two-Parameter Foundation Subjected to Moving Load

ABSTRACT: Closed-form solutions are developed for an infinite Euler-Bernoulli beam resting on a visco-elastic foundation subjected to a load moving at a constant velocity. The foundation is characterized by springs and dashpots with shear interaction between the springs. A critical load velocity is obtained at which the beam deflection tends to become unbounded. Using the closed-form solutions, the beam deflection can be obtained for different damping ratios, beam and soil properties, and load velocities. Dynamic amplification curves developed based on the solutions can be used in design.
RÉSUMÉ: Des solutions de forme fermée sont développés pour une infinité d'Euler-Bernoulli poutre reposant sur une fondation viscoélastique soumis à une charge se déplaçant à une vitesse constante. La fondation se caractérise par des ressorts et des amortisseurs avec interaction de cisaillement entre les ressorts. A la vitesse de la charge critique est obtenu au cours de laquelle la déviation du faisceau tend à devenir illimitée. Utilisation des solutions de forme fermée, la déviation du faisceau peut être obtenue pour des rapports différents d'amortissement, des propriétés de faisceau et le sol, et les vitesses de charge. Courbes d'amplification dynamique développés sur la base des solutions peuvent être utilisées dans la conception.
