ABSTRACT: Consolidated-undrained cyclic triaxial tests were conducted on high quality sample retrieved from the foundation till of the Jules-Allard dam using a triple wall coring device. Results of the tests indicate an initial increase in pore water pressure, followed by a decrease due to dilation of the sample. None of the samples reached a state of cyclic mobility even though more than 100000 cycles were applied. The maximum pore water pressure ratio varied between 5% and 90% of effective consolidation stress with corresponding levels of average axial strain between 0.02% and 0.11%. The dense foundation till at Jules-Allard dam has a high seismic strength and can be considered as non-liquefiable.
