Assistance for the calculation of settlement

ABSTRACT: The user assistance developed for settlement calculations in the Norwegian-Swedish software GeoFuture is described. The software has a solution engine with options for modelling in one, two or three dimensions. GeoFuture is a follow-up R&D project after the release of the software GeoSuite. The three main topics under development in GeoFuture are 1) 3D analysis engine and framework, 2) 3D data representation and 3) Wizard for user assistance. The flow diagram of the settlement calculation is presented, as well as the process and examples of the assistance offered. Plans for future de-velopment of the user assistance are also mentioned.

RÉSUMÉ: Le code GeoFuture, présentement en évolution en Norvège et Suède, permet de faire le calcul géotechnique des fonda-tions avec option de calculs en une, deux ou trois dimensions. Le programme de recherche et développement compte trois objectifs principaux: 1) développement et implémentation du logiciel et modèle de comportement pour analyses en 3D, 2) présentation des données en 3D, et 3) devin d'assistance pour calculs. Le code est spécialement développé pour l'ingénieur géotechnicien afin de pouvoir l'aider dans la pratique du dimensionnement des fondations. Des exemples d'assistance sont présentés. L'article conclue avec les plans de développement futur de l'assistance l'utilisateur.
