Session: CASE HISTORIES - II Seismic Design Aspects

ABSTRACT: In order to realize a seismic risk study, a geological model of the loose deposits stratigraphy on the territory of Saguenay city was generated. The data considered are composed of drilling data, a map of the subsurface deposits, a roc topography model, a numeric field model and of a paper revue. These data are mainly gathered from the hydrogeological database of the -Saint-Jean (PACES-SLSJ). The methodology used for the model completion is described. The model represents the following stratigraphic units: rock, till, glaciofluvial deposits, clay, sand and gravels. This model is the first stage in developing a map of the soil grades susceptible to the seismic site effects on the territory of Saguenay city.
