ABSTRACT: The aquifer tests are widely used in practice to determine the hydrodynamic characteristics of unconfined aquifers. The numerical simulations of these tests require a good understanding of the physical phenomena involved. The coefficient, of volume compressibility mv, is an important soil characteristic for unsteady state analysis of groundwater flow toward a pumping well. The introduction of an erroneous value induces wrong numerical results. This paper, presents the influence of the values of the coefficient of volume compressibility mv on the numerical simulations of the groundwater flow to pumping well in unconfined aquifer and illustrate the importance of the adequate selection of the value of this coefficient to use in numerical analysis.

RÉSUMÉ: s à nappe sion des phénomènes physiques impliqués, et une connaissance des méthodes utilisées pour représenter le milieu et solutionner le problème. Le de ce paramètre à introduire est mise en évidence.
